Mission
Get hands-on with the electrical and mechanical guts of real construction robots. As a hardware intern you'll help design, build, wire, and test the systems that make our machines run — and you'll see your work go from the lab to actual construction sites. This is a learning role: we don't expect professional experience, we expect curiosity, initiative, and a love of building real things.
Responsibilities & Outcomes
- Support the hardware team in wiring, assembling, and integrating electrical and mechanical systems.
- Help prototype and test modules (sensors, actuators, power, wiring) in the lab and in the field.
- Assist with simple circuit / PCB tasks, CAD work, and mechanical assembly.
- Document your work and help debug issues found during testing.
- Learn our tools, norms, and workflows — and take on more ownership as you grow.
Cultural Competencies
- Builder mindset: you like to take things apart and make them work.
- Curious and fast-learning,you ask questions and pick things up quickly.
- Hands-on and pragmatic; happy to get dirty in the lab or on site.
- Low-ego, reliable, and comfortable in a small fast-moving team.
Requirements
- Currently studying, or have completed, a B.Sc/M.Sc in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Some hands-on tinkering with electronics, hardware, or mechanical builds (uni projects, hobby projects, maker work — all count).
- Basic familiarity with wiring, soldering, CAD, or simple circuits is a plus, not a must.
- No professional experience required — potential and initiative matter most. Prior internships or working-student roles, especially in robotics, hardware, or automation, are a plus.
- Available for more than 3 months (longer is strongly preferred) as a full-time or working-student internship; German is helpful but not required.
